Keep the exact value visible

A visual bar never replaces the number. Every meter shows the source value and unit beside it.

Use category-aware rules

Weight can favor lower values; storage can favor higher values; preference fields do not receive a false winner.

Name the field winner

Each measurable row states which product leads, what the advantage is and how large the difference is.

Field winners describe listed values. The Fit Meter is clearly labeled as a user-controlled preference calculation.

The comparison process

From product fields to a decision page

  1. Match like with like. Products are compared inside the same category and comparable fields use the same unit.
  2. Preserve missing values. A field that is not available remains “Not listed.” It is not estimated or inferred.
  3. Apply a visible direction. Each numeric field says whether lower or higher receives the advantage.
  4. Calculate the pair. The stronger value receives a full-length bar; the other bar shows its proportional position.
  5. Explain the boundary. The page describes what the number measures and what it cannot prove.

What “wins” means on SpecMeter

A field winner means one product has the favored listed number under that field’s declared rule. It does not mean that product is universally better.

Lower wins

Weight, thickness, charge time

The lower number receives the measurable advantage.

Higher wins

Storage, capacity, refresh rate

The higher number receives the measurable advantage.

No automatic winner

Processor names, panel type, mounts

Descriptive or preference-sensitive fields remain neutral.

The Fit Meter uses the same measurable fields but lets you assign importance from zero to ten. It produces a personal match score for the selected pair only. It is not a laboratory rating, durability prediction or universal ranking.
